Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean V20A Update For LG Optimus 4X HD Leaked

A couple of weeks ago, LG Hong Kong confirmed that the LG Optimus 4X HD, LG Optimus L7 and LG Optimus L9 will receive the Android Jelly Bean treatment in the first half of 2013. Now, the Android 4.1.2 firmware update for the LG Optimus 4X HD has been spotted on the XDA-Developers forum. The leaked update, has the version number V20A,  has also been seen on the manufacturer’s testing servers.
There are some users that have already downloaded and installed the update on their devices and they say it comes with some improvements such as a longer battery life, better network signal, smoother usage and a couple of new features. Nevertheless, before you install it on your LG Optimus 4X HD you should think it through because the update is only a beta testing version, thus it comes with some imperfections. In other words, before you install the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update, you should know that it lacks some apps, OTC doesn’t work, and the bootloader is locked. Also, if you are disappointed in the new software, installing an official firmware once again could be pretty tricky.
You can always wait for the official rollout because rumor has it that it won’t be long until the company will release it. The good news is that LG doesn’t is expected to release the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for the LG Optimus 4X HD in the near future. It would be nice if the update for the L7 and L9 would be rolled out, as well. Unfortunately, an exact date when the South Korean company will release the upgrade isn’t available yet, but have patience, it will arrive.
