LG Optimus L9 2 Leaked Pic and Benchmarks Hit the Web

Even though the Optimus L9 is not LG’s flaghsip smartphone, it’s definitely one of the company’s best devices. It’s been quite a while since it was launched and we are still waiting for its successor, the LG Optimus L9 2, to be released. It seems that the people eager to get their hands on it won’t have to wait much longer because we have a new report consisting of brand new information that comes along with a photo featuring the device, as well.
The folks at TechTastic have found a photo that shows the LG Optimus L9 2 (well, just a part of it) resting on top of an LG laptop. Of course, we recommend that you take this with a little bit of salt because we don’t know for sure if the device is actually the LG Optimus L9 2. However, it does have a sticker just above its screen on which it’s written “L9II EU”. Also, another reason to believe that the smartphone will be out for sale soon is the fact that it appeared in one of the tests of GFXBenchmark.
Many people are wondering what kind of hardware will the handset be packing. And while we don’t know anything for sure yet, it’s clear that it will come with better specs than the original Optimus L9, which sports a 4.7-inch display, it’s underpinned by a dual-core Cortex A9 CPU clocked at 1GHz and a PowerVR SGX540 GPU. It also has 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of on-board storage, and as of March it runs Android Jelly Bean, an update that the phone’s users have been waiting for a long time.
As I said, the LG Optimus L9 2 will come with better hardware that its predecessor, but according to the rumors, the specs won’t be much better. So, even though we don’t know all the details, it seems that the Optimus L9 2 will sport a 4.7-inch 720p HD IPS display, it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, and it will include 1 GB  of RAM. Also, it will be running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. As for the release date, the company has not specify anything in this area. However, rumor has it that the device will be launched sometime during the summer, thus we can expect it in the near future.
