Next-gen Nexus 7 Release Date Might Be at Computex 2013

Google-Nexus-7-1

There are only a few days remaining until the Computex tech show will be held, and rumors about what devices will be launched are surfacing the web. Asus is said to reveal several products including the next generation Nexus 7. Before we get started, I must tell you that the news is far from being official and the website that has provided it doesn’t offer too much details, so we recommend that you take this with a grain of salt, a big one.
The source is the online publication IBN Live, which suggests that some analysts are expecting the new Nexus 7 to be announced during this year’s show. However, the publication does not specify the names of the analysts, neither what makes them believe the tablet will be showed off in Taipei. In other words, the information is pretty vague. IBN Live only says that the customers who are waiting for the new Nexus 7 should be excited as the device will be launched at the Computex trade fair, according to analysts.
Apart from Asus, another company that is believed to launch new low-end Android tablets is Acer. The prices for these tablets will allegedly range between $100 and $150, and might come with MediaTek SoCs.
Of course, the report does not seem to be trustworthy, but we can’t exclude the possibility that the Nexus 7 will be unveiled at the mentioned event. There have been plenty of rumors saying that the handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, and that will be running Android 4.3. Also, it seems that the Nexus 7 has already been seen in the Bluetooth SIG logs.
Moreover, there was another report that appeared right after the Google I/O event and suggested that the Nexus 7 will indeed run Android 4.3, but it will be launched sometime in July. Finally, one last report claimed that the device will be released in Q3 of 2013.
Anyway, Computex is on its way and we’ll let you know what handsets will be unveiled.
