Gold LG G3 Color Option Confirmed by Leaked Package

Gold LG G3

Now that most Android OMEs already released their flagship smartphones for 2014, the media’s attention is turning towards LG’s G3. After a couple of LG G3 leaked details surfaced on the web in the last couple of days, now we get the confirmation that the Korean phone maker is also planning to offer a golden model at launch.
The information comes from tech publication The Verge after its journalists managed to get their hands on a photo of Gold LG G3 retail box. Unsurprisingly, LG refused to comment on the matter, but the company’s representatives confirmed for The Verge that the G3 will indeed arrive with a Quad HD (1440 x 2560) screen as rumored.
Yesterday we’ve presented you a couple of leaked photos of the LG Isai FL, which is supposed to be the successor of the first-gen Isai, a close relative of the LG G2. Sources quoted by The Verge have confirmed that the LG G3 will borrow some of the design elements of the LG Isai FL, including that super-slim bezel.
But what do we know so far about the LG G3? I’m glad you’ve asked. After a photo of a benchmark result from AnTuTu running on LG G3 leaked online we were able to tell that the handset might not pack a Snapdragon 805 SoC as initial rumors suggested, but a quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset as the benchmark listed Adreno 330 GPU as renderer.
The rumor mill also speculates that the LG G3 will sport 3 GB of RAM and 13 MP primary camera, while an alleged screenshot revealed that the South Korean company is readying a flatter interface for their flagship smartphone.
Even though it was initially reported that the LG G3 release date has been set for August, sources in Korean media are reporting that LG has pushed the launch date forward to be able to stay competitive. If the report is to be believed, the new handset will be introduced to the public in late June, followed by a market debut in early July.
In your opinion, will the LG G3 be able to bite a big chunk of Samsung Galaxy S5′s market share? Please let us know in comments.
