OnePlus One Release Date, Specs, and Price Officially Revealed

OnePlus One 03

After months of teasing and leaks, the OnePlus One release date, specs, and price are officially official. OnePlus One comes pre-loaded with CyanogenMod and as you might have guessed already it aims to compete against Nexus and Google Play Edition edition smartphones.
The technical specifications of the OnePlus One are at least impressive, the handset boasting about a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU, 3 GB LP-DDR3 RAM, and a 5.5-inch JDI (IPS LCD) screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Underneath its case you’ll also find 16/64 GB of native storage, a non-removable 3,100 mAh battery, Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4G/5G) 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS/GLONASS, and support for GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz – WCDMA bands: 1/2/4/5/8 – LTE bands: 1/3/4/7/17/38/40.
OnePlus One is 152.9 mm tall, 75.9 mm wide, and 8.9 mm thick, weighs 162 grams, and has a rear-mounted 13 MP Sony Exmor Sensor with f/2.0, LED flash, and support for 4K video recording. The front-facing camera is a 5 MP unit. On the bottom of the device you’ll find two stereo speakers.
The white, 16 GB model has a price of $299/€269, while the 64 GB black variant costs $349/€299, making OnePlus cheaper than its main rival, the Nexus 5. Design wise, the OnePlus One is a reminiscent of the smartphones Oppo released in the last couple of years. It’s also worth mentioning that OnePlus One it’s not compatible with wireless charging and it doesn’t come with support for microSD cards.
Even though the smartphone has capacitive buttons on the front panel, they can be turned off and replaced by on-screen software buttons
It’s quite obvious that OnePlus applied a custom icons set over the default CyanognMod one, but we are glad to announce you that all CM11 features are there: customizable toggles in QuickSettings, SMS encryption, CyanogenMod Camera and Gallery app, and tons of other customization options.
OnePlus announced that their new smartphone will become available for purchase mid-May in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and the United States.
